Millies Mexican Restaurant sits right off I-35 in Dilley, Texas, serving up hearty, straightforward Mexican and Tex-Mex meals with a focus on breakfast and classic plates. It’s the kind of place you pull into when you’re between San Antonio and Laredo and craving a solid, no-frills meal with familiar flavors. The building shows its age, which adds a little local character rather than polish, but the kitchen more than makes up for it with generous portions and homestyle cooking.

Breakfast here draws early risers and highway travelers alike, with traditional dishes like machacado, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros that hit the spot for a filling start. The lunch and dinner menu leans heavily on grilled meats and combos — fajita plates, ribeyes, and tampiqueña are popular picks. If you’re feeling adventurous, the menudo and the shrimp and beef fajita mix offer more regional flavors. Homemade onion rings and fresh guacamole make for solid sides, and the sweet tea is a local favorite that helps balance the savory plates.

The atmosphere is laid-back and casual, with a mix of truckers, locals, and families passing through. The dining room feels like a spot where you can slow down briefly and enjoy your meal without rush, though it does get busy during typical meal hours. Staff are attentive and friendly, making an effort to keep things smooth even when the place fills up. The sizable parking lot accommodating 18-wheelers signals that Millies is used to welcoming travelers who need a reliable stop.

This spot works best if you’re looking for a straightforward, filling Tex-Mex meal in a low-key setting rather than upscale dining. Breakfast service is particularly convenient for early travelers, while the dinner options cater well to those wanting bold, grilled flavors after a day on the road or local errands.

Had the Fajita plate and the scent of brisket and flavor was very good, Nataly our waitress was awesome and punctual with our needs. Definitely will be back. Drinks for $2.99 was the only downfall.

This is currently the best place to eat when driving between Laredo and San Antonio. The place is a little run down, but what do you expect in the Rio Grande Plain. Service was great. Excellent coffee! Ordered the machacado, pancakes, and ham and eggs.

I-35 exit 84 northbound. If you are in to a good Tex-Mex flavor and you drive btwn Laredo- San Antonio you have to stop for a real good meal on this restaurant. Server really are in to the “make people happy business “. Is not expensive place but doesn’t mean quality is compromised. A big parking lot where at least ten 18 wheeler can fit and many 4 wheels as well. Plus the old fashioned Texan restaurant will make say “ thanks ya’ll”.

I have passed by Millies hundreds of times but never stopped. I did this week, and it was great!. It is definitely the best place to eat between San Antonio and Laredo. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean.

Foods good! Tractor trailer parking but only 5 spaces pending how many cars / trucks are there and how the other drivers are parked. Nice staff!! clean place! Will definitely make it back here again, major change from eating the same stuff at pilot, J's, TA etc... If your a driver it might be best to call the order in so the wait isnt so long. Again truck parking i see guys using it overnight but im sure its not meant to be used as a rest stop. Exit before the dealership stay on the feeder.

It's been a long time I haven't reviewed, but now I'm back. Found this little gem halfway meeting family. I got the TX plate, and I have to say I like the carne guisada a lot.
